Lewisia columbiana

Mineral-based mix with excellent drainage (gravel, pumice, coarse sand). Avoid high peat content to prevent rot.

Water sparingly during active growth in spring. Allow soil to dry completely between waterings. Reduce watering significantly during summer dormancy.

Full sun in cooler climates. Provide afternoon shade in hot regions to prevent scorching and excessive heating of the root zone.

Low nutrient requirement. Apply dilute liquid fertilizer once at planting time or early spring if soil is poor.

Remove spent flower stalks and dead foliage carefully to prevent rot entry points.
